Just when it looked like Porsha Williams and Shamea Morton were loving life as the best of friends on RHOA, it turns out the reality is quite different. In the lead-up to the show, BTS clips of filming saw the ladies seemingly having a time. But now Shamea shares how they’re actually not that tight, after all.
Shamea dishes on Porsha friendship
During RHOA season 16, we’re seeing all kinds of messiness play out. Porsha and Drew Sidora are having it out, Angela Oakley and Shamea are throwing insults at one another, and Kenya Moore and Brit Eady do not get off to a good start.
Of all the ladies on the show, the two we least expected to have beef were Shamea and Porsha – they seemed to be the best of friends?!
But, now Shamea is dishing on her current friendship status with Porsha.
Speaking to ET, she explained how she might not be quite “Porsha’s ride or die” at the moment.
She said: “This is new territory for both of us, but if it’s a strong and a solid friendship, we’ll come out of it, that’s what happens sometimes.”
Porsha also confirmed that she and Shamea’s friendship was no longer the same as it was, adding how “things changed,” per The Breakfast Club.
Kandi and Shamea are close
In another interview, Kandi explained how she accepts responsibility for Shamea finally getting a peach.
Speaking to ET, Kandi said Shamea is “her girl,” and confirmed she’s the reason she got a full-time role.
Kandi admitted she can “take credit” for Shamea’s casting, and added: “One of the people that make the decisions…” thanked her for getting Shamea “because she’s great for the show”
Shamea and Porsha fell out before
RHOA stars Shamea and Porsha have been friends since they were kids, and their moms are also said to be pals.
Naturally, a longtime friendship can come with some ups and downs, and it looks like these two have been on something of a rollercoaster at times.
In previous RHOA seasons, the two hashed out their beef and made up. But now that Shamea is a full-time housewife like Porsha, it seems the dynamic has shifted.
Shamea told ET she has hopes of them patching things up: “There’s highs and there’s lows. With love at the center, you can persevere through it. I love Porsha, I want nothing but the best for her.”
She also adds how she’s not sure where it all went wrong: “That’s one of the most disheartening things about it all.”
